Respected Sir/Madam, SUB: Financial Assistance Required to carryout rehabilitation work in Tsunami affected areas in Vedaraniyam taluk in Nagappattinam district. We are a Registered Non-Governmental Organization working for the upliftment of socio-economic backward section for the last 19 years. Since the time Tsunami tragedy took place we have been working in the affected areas providing relief in shifting the victims, providing food, clothing, &have also provided 100 temporary shelters. Now, we have been allotted the construction of 200 permanent houses ,in addition we have been conducting survey village by village as many people are lacking even the basic facilities. We are helping them by meeting, them basic requirements, desalination of land etc. We have also started providing vocational training& giving them employment as alternate income generation source. But, The Tsunami affected area people needs at present as follows:- 1.CHILDREN:-School Bags, Note Books& stationeries, Uniform Dress. 2.YOUTH-Computers,Tailoring Machines,(For Vocational Trainings) etc. 3.FISHERIES:-Houses,Nets& accessories, Boat& Engines repair, Ice Box, etc 4.FARMERS:- Houses, Agricultural Equipments, desalination of Land. 5.WOMEN:-Cooking Utensils, Stoves, Ceiling Fans ,Grinder and preserved hygienic food. 6.ALTERNATIVE INCOME SOURCE FOR FISHERMEN&FARMERS Iron Box with mobile four wheeler rickshaw, petty shop, Rented cycle shop,etc. 7.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Mobile Health Centers, Medicines, Permanent Water Facilities, Construction of Primary Health Centers, Construction of Primary Schools, Construction Community Halls, Animals Distribution, etc. We request you to support us for doing re-settlement works in any of the above mentioned need based works.
